Digitising Patterns For The Manufacturing of Glass, Stone and Metal Products
Tough But Smooth
Hard materials such as stone, metal, glass, plywood and plastic require adequate machines for cutting. These machines typically use a saw, laser or routing heads to accomplish the task.

Why iDigit ?
Whether your products are made of metal sheets, stone (marble, granite etc.), glass or other similar hard material, we have an iDigit solution that suits your template digitising requirements.

More than a digitising system
The one common requirement while cutting these materials is smoothness, which back propagates this essential requirement one step back, namely to the digitising process.

Often such templates have cut-outs and round holes and they require their corners to be rounded to prevent cracks and similar faults, which means the exported data can’t be made of polylines to represent curves. CAD entities such as circles, lines and Arcs which are more sutiable for the cutting machinery provide the smooth results that are needed in these industries.

This requirement can be satisfied by using iDigit’s General DXF and SVG formats.

Even if patterns are created from scratch in iDigit using the spline tool, iDigit automatically converts the curves into a series of lines and Arcs. While adding or moving patterns or their internal elements, these features of iDigit prove to be very handy:

-
Customisable grid
-
Alignment assistant
-
Snap feature
-
Adding vertex at a distance
-
Breaking segments into multiple sub-segments
-
Rounding corners with a radius
